Bunga Raya, Malaysia National Flower
Bunga Raya is the national flower of Malaysia. Bunga Raya commonly known as hibiscus. It was choosen as the national flower by Tunku Abdul Rahman, Malaysia first Prime Minister on 28 July 1960.

Symbolically, Bunga Raya red color represents courage, and the each of the five petals of the Bunga Raya represents the Five Principles of Nationhood of Malaysia.

•Kesetiaan kepada Raja dan Negara (Loyalty to King and Country)
•Keluhuran Perlembagaan (Supremacy of the Constitution)
•Kedaulatan Undang-undang (Rule of Law)
•Kesopanan dan Kesusilaan (Mutual Respect and Morality)

This year 2010, our head country, Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abdin consented to launch the celebration of 50th anniversary of Bunga Raya as national flower . Also present was the Minister of Information, Communications and Culture, Datuk Seri Dr Rais Yatim

Earlier in his speech, Rais said,50 years as the national flower is intended to educate the younger generation closer to one of the country's symbol of pride.

He said it also expects to realize certain groups to continue to appreciate the position of Bunga Raya as national flower.
